Borna Barisic breaks Rangers silence as he delivers 'No Surrender' message after Hibs flashpoint

Rangers left-back Borna Barisic has broken his silence over the horror tackle from Ryan Porteous with a 'No Surrender' message.

The phrase - which is a well-used Unionist slogan that emanates from Northern Ireland - was posted by the Croat on Instagram after the 3-0 win at Easter Road over Hibs.

Barisic was on the receiving end of a shocking tackle from Hibs defender Porteous that resulted in him being sent off.

The defender was then targeted by a glass vodka bottle as well as various other objects as he lay on the ground awaiting treatment.

And the 27-year-old was quick to show Rangers fans he was fine by taking to social media with his post which has 15,000 likes on the social media platform.

The incident with Porteous sparked wild scenes on the touchline as staff from both teams clashed.

Ibrox coach Tom Culshaw and Hibs assistant John Potter were shown red cards for their parts in the bust-up.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard was critical of the Hibs backroom staff and insists they shouldn't have defended the tackle.

He said: "It was just the staff trying to defend a tackle like that. Look, we all understand bad tackles - I've done a few myself, there's no problem with that.

"But you can't defend that. So, obviously our emotions are running high but, I think, when it calms down both benches will maybe have a look at their behaviour.

"I'll certainly be speaking to my staff on that front.

"But we were disappointed with the reaction from them trying to defend because it's a straight red."
