Rangers have been given a boost with the news Borna Barisic has not suffered a serious injury - and will be back in the Croatia fold in the coming days.
The left-back was absent completely from the teamsheets as Croatia lined up against England at Wembley on Sunday afternoon and manager Zlatko Dalic revealed he was set for back scans.
That raised eyebrows with Ibrox fans hoping nothing had happened to their star left-back that could jeopardise next season's Champions League qualifiers and the Premiership title defence.
But the latest update from the Vatreni camp is a positive one for Rangers fans and manager Steven Gerrard.
A spokesperson for the national team said: "We got the update and situation is positive.
"The MRI did not show any serious injury, so he will be rested today and expected to make a quick recovery and join the team in full training soon."
Dalic had said earlier on Monday: "Borna arrived to the camp and missed two training sessions because of a back injury he had previously with his club.
"He started working out again but unfortunately he’s not in the same shape as he was during the whole season.
"He did an MRI scan today so we will see exactly what the situation with him is over the next few days.
"It is a problem for us, especially against Scotland when he would be at home.
"We will have to see his results then we will know more about his status going forward."
Croatia will take on the Czech Republic on Friday at Hampden and will look to repair the damage inflicted by a 1-0 loss to England at Wembley.
