Boris Johnson threatened to pull out of interview with Rylan Clark-Neal

Andrew Neil isn't the only person PM Boris Johnson doesn't want to be interviewed by.

Rylan Clark-Neal claims the Tory politician threatened to pull an interview with him on This Morning.

Rylan was standing in for Philip Schofield alongside Holly Willoughby when Mr Johnson came in for a chat in June 2016, ahead of the EU referendum.

Rylan says trouble kicked off when Boris discovered the former X Factor contestant would be on the sofa instead of long-term host Phil.

"When Boris and his team found out I was hosting the show, they nearly pulled the interview because they obviously didn't think I was qualified enough,” explains Rylan – who was only made aware of the brouhaha after he was announced to host Channel 4's election coverage.

"Obviously, This Morning didn't tell me,” he says.

"But I did interview Boris. Why should I care if someone thinks I'm qualified or not?"

Boris later crowed how "lovely" it had been to meet Rylan, but as the presenter continues: "I am sure it wasn't him. It was probably someone on his team.

"I actually like the snobbery.

"I love the fact that people think I'm not qualified and love the reaction of people that are going, 'Why the f*** is he hosting the election?'

"Because I love nothing more than proving people wrong, and I have done for the last seven years."

*Rylan is starring in Nativity! the Musical at the Eventim Apollo, West London, from Dec 11-29.
