Boris Johnson taken to hospital for tests after contracting coronavirus

Boris Johnson is in hospital after he contracted coronavirus.

The Prime Minister has been confined in isolation after being diagnosed with Covid-19. 10 days ago

The 55-year-old last week insisted he was feeling better, but insiders said the disease "had hit him hard".

Downing Street has now confirmed he has been taken to hospital for tests.

A Downing Street spokesperson said: “On the advice of his doctor, the Prime Minister has tonight been admitted to hospital for tests.

“This is a precautionary step, as the Prime Minister continues to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus ten days after testing positive for the virus.

Yesterday Boris' pregnant fiancee, Carrie Symonds, confirmed she had symptoms and had been bed-ridden all week.

She said she had not been tested.
