This week on Talking Europe, Italy's former Prime Minister says Boris Johnson "should resign" after the UK's highest court ruled unanimously that his attempt to prorogue the British parliament was "unlawful".
Whether the EU would possibly grant a Brexit extension, Mr Letta said he was pessimistic and willing “to bet on a catastrophic no deal”.
“At the European level, I think maybe patience is over and the idea that they can give more time maybe is over."
On the thorny issue of migration, he urged a new treaty to be agreed between “willing countries” that reinforces public trust by showing that “public institutions are managing the [issue]”.
