Kate Garraway has revealed that Boris Johnson sent her 'a personal note' as her husband battle for his life after being struck down by coronavirus.
The past year has been a traumatic and very worrying one for Kate and her family after her other half, former political aide Derek Draper contracted Covid-19 and was then placed in a medically induced coma after his condition took a rapid turn for the worse.
Kate was told that Derek had 'the worst infection' of any coronavirus survivor in the UK, and while he returned home last month after a year in a hospital bed, Kate has acknowledged there's a long road ahead.
And it was during a chat with Times Radio, that Kate revealed she'd received kind thoughts from the Prime Minister, who himself ended up in hospital with the virus, while Derek fought for his life.
She said: " Boris Johnson actually wrote a really, really very personal note reflecting on things that he and Derek had been involved in together and his impression of him as a person, and also thinking of me and the children.

"And also Carrie as well, who I think has had a tough time, particularly when Boris was ill and she was pregnant with a first child.
“I think she has had a challenging time dealing with that. Mercifully, his health is great now but they must have had some dark moments as well during that period."
Kate has just released her book The Power of Hope about how she and her family have got through the past year, with it following on from candid ITV documentary Finding Derek, which featured harrowing footage of some of the upsetting conversations between Kate and Derek while he was in hospital.
Talking about his return home last month, the former I'm A Celebrity contestant said: "It's been fantastic; overwhelmingly challenging. Obviously, you know, there's a long way to go to see more of the Derek we love and the dad that we love and we have to see how that goes.
"But it's wonderful to have him back."
