Boris Johnson's sister Rachel flouts lockdown rules to stay at second home

Boris Johnson’s sister has been flouting the lockdown rules to play tennis near her second home.

Radio presenter Rachel Johnson has repeatedly told listeners on LBC that she is isolating at her residence in Somerset.

The 54-year-old has been making the 141-mile trip to London for work, which includes an overnight stay at her Notting Hill residence.

However, pictures taken by the Mirror show the presenter entering and leaving her property to go play tennis.

This comes despite her Prime Minister brother’s guidelines that ban the movement between two households.

Her husband and daughter are also at the Exmoor farm.

One Whitehall source said of the apparent double-fault in the wake of the national fury over Dominic Cummings: “It doesn’t look good for anyone.

"The story Boris is trying to avoid is of one rule for the elite and another for the rest.

“First his friend Dom and now his sister have been caught bending the rules, if not breaking them.”

After her show on Friday, Rachel returned to the west London home where her two sons also stay.

On Saturday, after a quick knock-up with pals and a dog walk, she took a train to Somerset.

A spokesman for the radio host said: “In line with the majority of broadcasters she is afforded keyworker status.

"The show finishes at 7pm. As it’s a four-hour journey back, she sometimes stays over.

“In line with the guidance, she makes a concerted effort to stay alert at all times.”

It comes after the PM's top aide Dominic Cummings drove 260 miles to Durham after suffering coronavirus symptoms.

The former Vote Leave boss also made a 30-mile trip to nearby Barnard Castle to test his eyesight after recovering from the virus.

He held onto his job by the skin of his teeth but was forced to give a grovelling press conference to the nation - and Durham Police ruled his Barnard Castle trip may have been a "minor breach" of lockdown regulations.
