Boris Johnson's sister Rachel admits on Good Morning Britain she has never met his girlfriend Carrie Symonds

Prime Minister Boris Johnson's sister Rachel has awkwardly admitted she has never met his girlfriend Carrie Symonds.

On today's special election edition of Good Morning Britain, journalist Rachel Johnson appeared alongside a panel of political figures to discuss the general election result.

However, the conversation soon turned to a more personal subject when Piers Morgan asked Rachel about the prime minister's girlfriend Carrie Symonds, reports Manchester Evening News .

Appearing rather annoyed, Rachel reluctantly admitted she has never met Carrie.

“Let’s talk about one other person in all this who has been a bit of a star - Carrie, Boris’s girlfriend,” began Piers, pointing towards Rachel.

Leaning back in her seat, she replied: “You’re talking… I haven’t met Carrie.”

When a surprised Piers probed a little more, Rachel put up her hands in a shrug and said “not yet”.

She added: “It’s not something I came to talk about.”

The former Tory spin doctor went public with Johnson in 2018.

Piers moved to the other side of the table to speak to Boris’s dad Stanley, who was also on the panel.

“Have you met her, Stanley?” enquired Piers.

Stanley, who appeared on I’m A Celebrity in 2017, said: “Of course I’ve met her. The Johnsons are united.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
