Boris Johnson's coronavirus statement - tell us what you think

Prime Minister Boris Johnson tonight laid out the next steps for the country to take in the battle against coronavirus.

In a speech on television, the PM paid tribute to people's efforts so far and said he wanted to provide a way to strike a balance between saving lives and protecting against economic ruin for businesses and the economy.

Among the measures he laid out were the creation of a five-stage alert system for coronavirus, ranging from stage one where the virus is not in the UK to stage five where the NHS is on the verge of being overwhelmed.

At the moment the UK is in stage four.

He also said people could return to work from tomorrow, but urged them to avoid public transport, and could sit out in parks while maintaining social distancing.

Travel for exercise is allowed as is going out for exercise more than once a day, while schools could start to re-open in January.

However there were still plenty of uncertainties in his statement too, and much depends on how people react and how the pandemic develops.

Now we want to gather your response to his statement. Take part in our survey below to let us know what you think now.
