Boris Johnson promises 'no more rows' as woman questions him at garden

Boris Johnson was forced to promise that there would be "no more rows" as he headed out on the campaign trail.

The Tory leadership frontrunner has consistently refused to be drawn on the argument which led to the police being called to his girlfriend's flat late on Thursday night.

An image emerged yesterday of the top Tory, 55, and 31-year-old Carrie Symonds holding hands at a secluded garden table - two days after police were called to reports of a domestic row at her flat.

Mr Johnson was challenged by a supporter while out campaigning at the Royal Horticultural Society's gardens at Wisley in Surrey.

One woman told him: "We thought you were the best from the word go," before adding jokingly: "Just don't have any more rows."

Mr Johnson replied: "No more rows. No, no, no. All quiet, all quiet."

He has repeatedly refused to answer questions about the bust-up telling the BBC's Laura Kuenssberg it was “simply unfair” to “drag” his "loved ones" into the political arena.

Friends reportedly claim the couple are under huge amounts of pressure due to Johnson's campaign to be Prime Minister.

Despite the rows, the couple are reportedly working hard to stay together, although pals told The Mirror that the former Foreign Secretary is yearning for his ex-wife Marina Wheeler.

One said: “He would like what he had before.”

Friends of Mr Johnson, who claim he is pining for his ex-wife, fear that could be behind his row with lover Carrie.

The 55-year-old PM hopeful is said to be finding his split from Marina Wheeler extremely painful.

Pals even claim he was agonising over whether she could attempt a reconciliation, despite her starting divorce proceedings last year over his cheating.
