Boris Johnson in minor crash after protester jumps in front of car carrying Prime Minister

The Prime Minister is said to be unharmed after he was involved in a minor car crash this afternoon when a protestor ran into the road.

The demonstrator, who had been protesting about Turkish action against Kurdish rebels, ran into the road outside the gates to Parliament.

The front of the convoy was forced to come to an abrupt stop, and a support vehicle then shunted into the luxury Jaguar carrying Boris Johnson

The vehicles drove off shortly afterwards in the direction of Downing Street, with a large dent visible on the rear of the Jaguar.

Downing Street said there were no reports of any injuries.

The protester was detained by police and taken into the Palace of Westminster by officers.
