Boris Johnson hires celebrity personal trainer to help him lose weight

Boris Johnson has hired a celebrity personal trainer to help him lose weight.

The PM was snapped jogging around Westminster with Instagram-famous 'performance coach' Harry Jameson.

Mr Johnson, 56, is said to be "really serious" about shedding the pounds after his near-death experience with coroanvirus.

Weight and age are aggravating factors in the virus, and make sufferers much more likely to die or need hospital treatment.

A Number 10 source admitted to the Evening Standard: "Yes, he has engaged a personal trainer. I can confirm it is Harry Jameson.

"It's because he is really serious about getting fit, as anyone who has seen him over the past couple of months knows. Boris is raring to go."

The photographs emerged the day after claims Mr Johnson was planning to step down in six months because his brush with Covid-19 had left him exhausted.

Sir Humphry Wakefield, the father-in-law of Dominic Cummings, is said to have made the claim to a holidaymaker visiting his castle in Northumberland.

Mr Johnson denied the claim yesterday.

He said: "It's absolute nonsense.

"I am feeling, if anything, far better as I've lost some weight."

Mr Jameson is the son of Louise Jameson, who played Leela, Tom Baker's companion in Doctor Who in the 1970s.

He's also worked with Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore, Masters of the Universe and Rocky star Dolph Lundgren and ex-England footballer Wayne Bridge.
