Boris Johnson was forced to borrow a tenner to pay for a brownie on the campaign trail because he 'doesn't carry cash.'
On a visit to Salisbury Christmas Market, the Tory leader tried have his cake, and presumably eat it.
But Mr Johnson found himself unable to complete the transaction with a market trader because he had no paper money.
Footage showed the stallholder dusting off his card machine when a Tory aide reached out with a crisp banknote for the Prime Minister to offer up in payment.
Close aides of Mr Johnson have previously admitted he rarely carries cash.
Earlier, during the same walkabout, passers-by heckled Mr Johnson.
There was some applause during the appearance, but it was punctuated by a man shouting: "How many children have you got?"
Another local yelled: "Ruining the country."

It's not the first time Mr Johnson has been accused of promising to pay for things and later being unable to do so.
Jennifer Arcuri told the Sunday Times he had to borrow cash from her to buy drinks.
She said: "He was like, ‘Thank you for waiting. I’m going to get a drink.’ He comes back 20 seconds later and says, ‘Jennifer, can I borrow £3.10?’
"I was like, ‘Are you serious? Me the student with like £10.”"

Mr Johnson was given tips about looking smart while visiting veterans living nearby.
"You've got dandruff on you," Paul O'Rourke told the Prime Minister as they chatted either side of the window of his room.
The 56-year-old, who served in the Royal Irish Rangers, said afterwards: "Someone had to say something."
Mr O'Rourke had explained how he previously lived in a tent before moving to other accommodation and then arriving at the Wilton Veterans Hub in recent days.
