Boris Johnson has confirmed the earliest possible date that salons, gyms and other personal care businesses could reopen their doors.
Speaking in the House of Commons this afternoon, the Prime Minister revealed his roadmap out of lockdown, including when we can expect to see gyms, hairdressers, tattoo parlours and nail salons reopen.
While the roadmap’s first priority will be the reopening of schools and safely reuniting loved ones, preliminary dates for businesses reopening have also been shared.
According to the Prime Minister, gyms and personal care facilities could begin to reopen "no earlier" than April 12, providing that analysis of the latest data against "the four tests" does not require a delay.

The four tests for easing measures include success of the vaccine rollout, evidence of vaccine efficacy, new variants and infection rates, which will be assessed by ministers before proceeding to the next step.
Restrictions will be eased step-by-step across the whole of England at the same time due to the current uniform spread of the virus.
A five week gap will occur between each of the steps of lifting restrictions, which means reopenings could be pushed back if one step requires a delay.
When indoor leisure facilities like gyms reopen, this will be for use individually, or within household groups and wider social contact rules will apply in all such settings.
The Prime Minister is expected to host a press conference at 7pm following the roadmap being revealed.
