Boris Johnson confirms date when hotels and holiday parks can reopen

Boris Johnson has finally confirmed when hotels and campsites across the UK can open their doors.

Hotels, campsites, holiday parks, bars and restaurants closed in March to prevent the spread of coronavirus, and businesses across the hospitality sector have been hit hard by the closure.

Now, after months of waiting, Boris Johnson confirmed that hotels and campsites across the UK can resume operations from July 4.

Today, the Prime Minister revealed that people can stay overnight at campsites and hotels from July 4

He said: "From July 4, provided that no more than two households stay together, people will be free to stay overnight in self-contained accommodation, including hotels and bed and breakfasts, as well as campsites as long as shared facilities are kept clean."

The Prime Minister has also confirmed that from July 4, hairdressers, barbers, bars and restaurants can reopen provided they are 'Covid secure'.
