Boris Johnson appears on This Morning and reveals if he'll change new baby's nappies in awkward chat

Prime Minister Boris Johnson answered a burning question about his new baby while appearing on Thursday's This Morning.

The PM sat down with ITV hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to speak about the nationwide concern surrounding coronavirus as the number of cases climbs, as well as the allegations against Home Secretary Priti Patel, but also took the time to discuss his partner Carrie Symonds' pregnancy, albeit it rather unwillingly.

Carrie revealed the couple's big news last week in an Instagram post. The 31-year-old wrote: "Many of you already know but for my friends that still don’t, we got engaged at the end of last year ... and we’ve got a babyhatching early summer. Feel incredibly blessed.”

It's not actually 100% clear how many children Boris has, as questioned on it at the last year, the PM replied: "I don't think this is what the nation wants to hear! The nation wants to hear how we are going to deliver Brexit."

There are five that are known ranging in age from 26 to 10, with Carrie thought to be around five months pregnant.

As you can see in the video above, Boris got flustered when asked by Phillip and Holly what he was like at changing nappies and if he would be changing some when the new baby comes, responding: "I'm not going to...obviously I-I-I...."

After Holly interrupted shouting "give it a go, give it a go, it's all part of the experience" the PM conceded "I expect so."

Viewers watching at home were quick to react to the awkward chat, with one tweeting: "come on PM we all know you don’t mind getting your hands dirty," and another posting: "Gonna be honest that might’ve been the most awkward part of an interview I’ve ever seen."
