Boris Johnson and fiancee Carrie 'host top-secret baptism for son Wilfred'

Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds have held a top-secret christening for their son Wilfred.

The PM and his partner reportedly had a private baptism for their 4-month-old son on Saturday, attended by a small number of family and friends.

However the couple skipped holding a reception to ensure the event was COVID secure.

Baby Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson was born in April, only a matter of weeks after Mr Johnson was discharged from hospital following his diagnosis with Coronavirus.

The PM spent a week in hospital battling the virus, including three nights in intensive care.

He gave his son Wilfred the middle name Nicholas in honour of two doctors, both called Nick, who helped save his life.

A source told the Sun: “After everything Boris and Carrie have ave been through this year, baptising Wilfred was a very special moment.

“They shared it with a small number of people and the service was simple but beautiful, with lots of tears and laughter.

“They’re not intending to release photographs as it was a special private moment.”

Mr Johnson is believed to have at least six children, including four with his ex-wife Marina Wheeler.

Downing Street declined to comment.
