Boris Johnson accused of hiding in fridge as aide 'swears' at Good Morning Britain reporter

Boris Johnson has been accused of hiding in a fridge to avoid questions from a Good Morning Britain reporter.

Reporter Johnathan Swain approached Mr Johnson and his advisors as he joined in on a milk round in West Yorkshire.

The Mirror reports he asked Mr Johnson if he would appear on the programme and "deliver on your promise to talk to Piers and Susanna?"

A camera crew then followed Mr Johnson who viewers claimed hid behind stacks of milk crates and into a large fridge.

"I'm actually being pushed and shoved at the moment as well by one of the minders," Mr Swain says, as the cameras are ushered away.

He then asks the minder to "tone your language down", as the segment appeared live on ITV .

Mr Johnson was helping to load milk and orange juice bottles onto a delivery vehicle on his last day of campaigning.

Asked about the narrowing polls, the Prime Minister told broadcasters: "This could not be more critical, it could not be tighter – I just say to everybody the risk is very real that we could tomorrow be going into another hung parliament.

"That’s more drift, more dither, more delay, more paralysis for this country."

Asked if he was nervous, Mr Johnson replied: "We’re fighting for every vote."
