I could hardly move in my inbox this morning for people telling me about Boris Johnson's new weblog. Aside from being the first Tory MP to dip his or her toe into the shark-infested waters of the blogosphere, it's a dream come true for Boris's legions of fans.
It appears that the floppy-haired shadow minister for arts has come into the orbit of energetic political blogger Tim Ireland, as he explains in his first post:
He spoke of a new kind of politics. He waved his hands and rolled his eyes. So I have acceded to his advice, and begun to blog.
Tim can safely be described as one of the prime movers in the UK political blogs scene: for a start, he helped Tom Watson to set up the first ever MP blog. His piece entitled why politicians need weblogs required reading for any MPs likely to pour scorn on Boris's noble venture.
