Boris Becker's estranged wife says prison didn't make the "devil" a better person

Boris Becker’s estranged wife has branded him “a devil” whose time in prison did not make him a better person.

Dutch model Sharlely Kerssenberg, 46, who is in the process of divorcing the tennis legend, claims he stopped paying child support for their son Amadeus.

Becker, 55, was sentenced to 30 months for hiding assets after declaring bankruptcy. He was released in December and deported to Germany after serving seven-and-a-half months behind bars.

Kerssenberg told German newspaper BILD: “Boris can be charming and loving, but also extremely hurtful with words. A devil.

“Prison didn’t make Boris a better person. In his world everything revolves around Boris Becker. It is not my fault he went to prison. He ruined his reputation all by himself. He doesn’t care whether we’re doing well or badly.”

She also claimed Becker did not call their son for 10 days after his release.

And she said she does not know his address, making divorce proceedings difficult, with no court date set.

The pair married in June 2009 and their only child was born in February 2010.

They announced their separation in 2018.
