Boris appoints Tory ex-nurse to tackle health inequalities

She's called Mary O'Connor, she was born in Cork, she's a Councillor in Hillingdon and she's to chair the London Health Commission. In his press release Mayor Johnson says, "Reducing health inequalites is one of the biggest challenges facing London. It is unacceptable that there can be a seven year difference in life expectancy depending on where you live in London. We need action on all fronts to address this problem."

Some said he is a Thatcherite. But someone who works with him told me the other day that he's more Supermac than Mrs T. Could be?
