Borgue Primary Pupils learn about healthy plant life as part of British Science Week

As part of British Science Week, pupils in Borgue Primary looked at what conditions plants need to grow healthily.

They set up experiments to demonstrate how plants transport water up the stem to reach the leaves and petals to hydrate them.

Outside they planted a variety of iris, freesia, anemone and lily bulbs.

They also planted two types of potatoes which will hopefully have produced enough potatoes for school cook Sheila to feed the whole school before the summer holidays.

Indoor science lessons have looked at hydraulics and pneumatics where pupils made some very entertaining wee monsters to demonstrate the process.
