Borgue Flower Show hits the road as community ensures coronavirus doesn't spoil the fun

Borgue Flower Show hit the road to give the community a alternative way of taking part in the annual event.

Covid-19 scuppered the popular occasion, traditionally one of the biggest events on the village calendar.

But Borgue folk produced their own mini flower and vegetable shows instead.

Operation Tub got into gear when local farmers donated cattle feeding tubs for plant displays.

Since then dozens of beautifully created floral arrangements and veggie beds have sprung up in around the village.

Colourful little gardens now adorn road junctions, road-ends and street spaces to the delight of passers-by.

Oni’s Farm Flowers donated young plants and Borgue House and High Borgue farms provided the tubs which were prepared for planting by local vets Sarah and Will McCarthy.
