Borders & Southern soars on hopes of positive Falklands drilling results

With the Falklands in the news again because of renewed tensions between the UK and Argentina coinciding with the anniversary of the war, investors are optimistic that oil explorers in the region could soon report positive results.

Shares in Borders & Southern have jumped 44% to 100.25p on hopes of imminent drill results from the Darwin week. Earlier this month the company indicated news should arrive in a matter of weeks, and traders are hopeful that the time is soon.

Fellow explorer Falklands Oil and Gas is up 24% to 85p while Desire Petroleum has added 7% to 30p.
