Borders Railway Line services cancelled as train breaks down at Edinburgh Waverley

A broken down train has caused disruption for commuters on Thursday morning, with services on the Borders Railway Line cancelled.

Trains running between Tweedbank and Edinburgh were hit by delays after a train broke down at Waverley .

The cancelled services were due to run between 6.22am and 8.28am.

Replacement buses have been put in place at Shawfair.

ScotRail said: "Because of an earlier train fault between Edinburgh and Tweedbank disruption is expected to last until around 9am today.

East Lothian residents urged to share their transport experiences in order to better travel in the area  

"We have two buses confirmed at Shawfair at 08:07 to Edinburgh, provided by one Allans bus and one James McNee bus."
