It hasn’t escaped the nation that something is up with Donald Trump‘s hand. For months, the White House has been doing its best to conceal the true state of Trump’s hand, ensuring it’s not captured in photographs, covering it with a flesh-colored bandage, and smearing the whole area with what looks like corpse-paint.
But now, once again, it’s been spotted, and questions are being asked about the official explanation:

Trump’s medical team insists his hand is injured from a combination of bruising from Trump’s chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), exacerbated by his medically advised use of aspirin. All that’s apparently compounded by the president having to constantly shake hands with people, which causes yet more bruising.
But experts have cast doubt on these claims. British skin doctor Dr Anatalia Moore told The Daily Mirror she believes it’s “unlikely” that handshaking caused his injury:
“A deeper bruise on the hand in an older patient or someone of Donald Trump’s age would make me think firstly they had required some medical support that involved placement of a cannula, better known as a drip, into the hand. So it indicates they could have had a medical procedure or hospital stay recently.”
Meanwhile, the ‘medical experts’ on X have their own theories. Holly Macomber (aka @mainefem), who doesn’t appear to have any medical or scientific credentials, has identified his condition as “late stage CHF”, aka congestive heart failure. She theorizes that this is the reason Trump is generally seated extra low at desks to hide the more swollen parts of his body. Her prognosis? He’ll be dead in less than a month.
A long history of presidential health cover-ups
Okay! Big if true. We may never get the true answer as to exactly what’s going on with Trump’s hand, but, regardless, this isn’t idle speculation on the president’s health based on nothing. He is clearly suffering some kind of medical condition, that hand isn’t looking good, and, frankly, the official line that this is bruising caused by too much handshaking just doesn’t pass the sniff test.
There are obvious reasons why the White House would cover up the true state of any president’s health, going right back to FDR hiding that he used a wheelchair. Plus, if the Democrats did it for Joe Biden, the Republicans will definitely do it for Trump. Here’s hoping that, unlike Biden, we get confirmation of what Trump is really suffering from while he’s in office rather than after he’s left it.
