Borderlands 4 will be the next major installment of the famed looter-shooter series, and we now have a better idea about its launch date.
The date, Sept. 12, has been common information for quite some months. However, the exact launch time was a matter of speculation. Developers Gearbox and publishers have now confirmed the time, and this guide will help you stay updated.
Borderlads 4 release countdown
2K will follow a different launch schedule for PC and console. Players on console will be able to start earlier in certain regions. The countdown below will be helpful for those who are playing on PC. Unlike consoles, the PC launch will happen simultaneously across all regions.
The countdown is set for the following times.
- 9am PT (Sept. 11)
- 11am CT (Sept. 11)
- 12pm ET (Sept. 11)
- 5pm BST (Sept. 11)
- 6pm CEST (Sept. 11)
- 12am SGT (Sept. 12)
- 1am JST (Sept. 12)
- 2am AEST (Sept. 12)
- 4am NZST (Sept. 12)
If you're on console, there's no set countdown. 2K is going for a regional launch for PlayStation and Xbox users. The only slight difference is for players located on the West Coast, since they can access the game at 9pm PST (instead of midnight for other regions).
Those on Xbox consoles will be able to play earlier using the New Zealand method, which involves changing your console region.
Unlike many recent releases, there won't be an early access period. Those opting for the more premium experience will get plenty of post-launch content for free, but everyone starts playing at the exact moment. The post-launch roadmap has already promised plenty of Bounty Packs, a Story Pack, and more to arrive in the future.
