Lucky Glasgow movie fans got a close-up look at the action as filming continues in the city for new Sky Original revenge-filled action thriller Borderland.

Production took over Bridge Street yesterday to shoot explosive scenes recreating an IRA bombing, with footage showing rubble exploding from an upper window of a building as terrified extras ran for cover below.

The 1970's-set movie stars Aml Ameen (I May Destroy You) and Colin Morgan (Belfast) alongside Felicity Jones (Rogue One), Mark Strong (1917), Sophia Brown (The Witcher: Blood Origin) and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (Avengers: Endgame).

The Glasgow streets have been transformed into 1970's London for the flick, which stars the likes of Aml Ameen (I May Destroy You) and Colin Morgan (Belfast) alongside Felicity Jones (Rogue One), Mark Strong (1917), and Sophia Brown (The Witcher: Blood Origin).

Yesterday's filming featured an iconic London double-decker and phone box as well as a black hackney and classic cars, with extras dressed in attire to reflect the time period.

The synopsis for the movie reads: "When a border ambush goes wrong, retired Irish paramilitary (Morgan) witnesses the fatal shooting of his pregnant wife by an SAS officer (Ameen). After outwitting the SAS, now wounded, and presumed dead, he escapes, taking his revenge to the dark and paranoid streets of 1970’s London."

Filming is set to continue in Glasgow on the flick until mid May, with further scenes to be shot in spots such as The Barras Market, Elmbank Street and Balmoral Street next to the River Clyde.
