Border Force intercepts £41,000 worth of LSD posted to Bristol address

Two men from Lawrence Hill have been arrested after £56,000 of drugs were seized yesterday (July 26).

Avon and Somerset Constabulary officers were notified yesterday morning by UK Border Force about a package they had intercepted.

It contained a magazine which concealed what was believed to be 4,100 tabs of LSD, a Class A drug - with an estimated street value of £41,000.

Officers in Bristol set out for the intended delivery address of the suspected recipient, where a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of importation of Class A drugs.

Whilst carrying out a search of the property, police said they found three lard tubs of cannabis believed to be worth approximately £5,000.

Another 39-year-old male was also detained and found to be carrying a large amount of cannabis resin, police said.

Further searches yielded a discovery of yet more drugs paraphernalia, including significant quantities of cannabis oil, magic mushrooms, and cannabis resin - worth a collective estimated street value in excess of £10,000 which resulted in the man being arrested on suspicion of intent to supply Class B drugs.

Both men remain in police custody.
