Boozy Scot in hilarious hurdle howler trying to 'break Usain Bolt's record' in Gourock

This is the hilarious moment a Scot attempts to break Usain Bolt's sprint record on a night out without taking into account the chain link blocking his path.

Jamie Rae, 23, had been 'out his box' drunk with pals in Gourock, Inverclyde, when he decided to put on a show as they made their way over to the ferry back to Dunoon in Argyll and Bute on Saturday night.

In CCTV footage, Jamie sprints down the road unaware of the obstacle rapidly approaching.

He then goes tumbling head over heels after crashing into the chain link, ending up flat on his face.

But his mates don't seem too bothered by his botched sprint as they take their time walking over to see if he is okay. Thankfully, apart from a bruised ego Jamie wasn't injured.

Speaking to the Record, he said: "The bus wasn't leaving in a rush, so I said to my mates jokingly that I'm quicker than Usain Bolt and that I could break his sprint record.

"I paid the consequence for that!

"I don't know how I wasn't injured, but I never even hit my face or my head. No clue how though, right enough."

The clip soon went viral after it was posted on Twitter on March 10, racking up nearly 76,000 likes and being shared by 11,500 people.

And the bricklayer has copped a fair amount of stick from his mates since.

He added: "Probably deserved a lot more abuse than I ended up getting. One of my mates could barely talk from laughing so much!"
