Boozy ice cream parlour joins thriving Sale Foodhall - with free ice cream on offer on opening day

A cocktail-inspired ice cream and sorbet shop is becoming a permanent vendor at the thriving Sale Foodhall.

Artisan specialists A Few Scoops will be joining the Stanley Square base in Sale from Thursday (February 3).

The parlour will offer a wide selection of sundaes, sorbets and milkshakes alongside scoops of their now-traditional boozy ice cream with flavours such as Espresso Martini and Pina Colada.

A Few Scoops also promises brand new creations made especially for Sale, with scoops of ice cream served alongside locally-made cones by the Antonelli Brothers, who are based in Eccles.

The menu will include sundaes incorporating ice cream with warm brownies, sugar waffles and cookies alongside boozy shakes featuring White Russian and Cherry Bourbon flavours.

There will also be a range of alcohol-free ice creams and milkshakes on offer too.

Since launching, A Few Scoops has made a name for itself touring Greater Manchester in a baby pink tuk tuk called Jolene and a bike nicknamed Dolly.

Alanna Atkinson, founder of A Few Scoops, said: “We’re delighted to be joining the Foodhall family and to bring our scoops over to Sale!

“Both Foodhalls and the General Stores have been so supportive of A Few Scoops since we launched in May last year and we can’t wait to call Sale Foodhall our home.”

To celebrate their arrival, A Few Scoops will be giving away a free scoop of ice cream in a cone between 5-7pm on Thursday.

On Saturday (February 5), the ice cream store will celebrate Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day with a range of breakfast ice creams from 9am.

Maisie Chow, general manager at Foodhalls, commented: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome A Few Scoops to our Foodhall community.

“We have been looking for the right person to complete our wonderful independent street food family over here in Sale and the innovative, local and independent spirit of what Alanna and her team do fit perfectly with us.”

Both boozy and alcohol-free products will be available vegan, and 500ml tubs will be available to take-away and can also be delivered via Uber Eats.

A Few Scoops will be open Sunday - Thursday 12pm - 9pm, and on Friday and Saturday from 12pm to 10pm.
