Boozed-up female lout threatened to 'rip' ex-boyfriend and neighbour with Stanley knife

A jealous bully who abused her ex-boyfriend and made threats against a neighbour has been placed on a tag and handed a fine.

Jennifer Hill, 43, flipped out at former partner Kenneth McMillan after he confessed he still had feelings for an old flame.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard Hill, of Divernia Way, Barrhead, also made threats to her ex-boyfriend’s neighbour after downing booze, claiming she would “rip” them with a DIY knife.

Procurator fiscal depute Kara Watt told the court Hill and her partner Mr McMillan, who had been in a relationship for two years, were drinking together at the property in the town’s Violet Street on April 23, last year.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard Jennifer Hill flipped out at former partner Kenneth McMillan (PDE)

She said: “They were having a discussion when the complainer told her he still had feelings for another woman from a previous relationship.

“She became upset and began shouting and swearing at the complainer.

“This argument was overhead by a neighbour, who could hear the disturbance and contacted police.

“The argument continued to escalate. At this point, the neighbour could hear the accused shouting and screaming at him.”

The police who attended heard the racket and also overheard Hill warning Mr McMillan, “I am going to f****** kill you.”

She was arrested and taken into custody.

The prosecutor added that, in another incident, Hill kicked off at McMillan’s neighbours following a “neighbourhood dispute” on May 15, last year.

Ms Watt said: “She and the complainer attended at the witness’ home in order to sort things out between them.

“Whilst in that property, the accused said, ‘I could rip you up with that Stanley knife’.

“She was intoxicated and became aggressive with the witness.

“Whilst leaving the address, she was heard shouting and acting aggressively. This lasted five or six minutes.

“Police who had been contacted, arrived at the flat and she was heard saying, ‘Aye, youse think I am f****** daftie, ya c****’.”

She arrested by police again.

Hill pleaded guilty to two charges of public disorder, where she shouted, swore and uttered threats of violence.

She also admitted breaches of bail by approaching and contacting her ex-partner on October 3, last year.

Defence agent James Arroll said his client “had been in a toxic relationship with Mr McMillan which was characterised by alcohol”.

He said: “She accepts her part in these cases, but Mr McMillan played his part in them too.

“The relationship was at an end, however, it starts back up again and when asked why, she tells me it was better than being alone.”

Sheriff Lindsey Kooner placed Hill on a tag for 81 days, requiring her to remain indoors between 7pm and 7am, handed her a £200 fine and ordered back to court on March 2 for a review of her behaviour.
