A tanked-up yob abused and assaulted police who were called out to a disturbance at her Paisley home.
Rebecca Goodwin, 27, and her late partner Darren Stewart had been downing booze at a property in Fulbar Road, Ferguslie Park, when trouble flared.
Paisley Sheriff Court heard cops were responding to a complaint at the address on May 19 last year when Goodwin lost the plot.
Procurator fiscal depute Caitlin O’Hare said: “The accused and Mr Stewart had been consuming alcohol at the property and later on that evening police witnesses had reason to attend.
“Outside the property the accused was informed she was under arrest and on being given this information the accused’s behaviour dramatically escalated and she became hostile.
“She began shouting ‘f*** up,’ and ‘c***’ as police witnesses attempted to control her.
“She then assaulted a police constable by kicking him on the leg.
“She was taken to the police station and while en route she continued shouting, swearing and was banging her head on the cell wall of the vehicle.”
Goodwin pleaded guilty to a charge of assaulting PC Kieran Boyle, in the execution of his duty, by kicking him on the body.
She also admitted a charge of public disorder when she shouted, swore and behaved aggressively towards police.
Defence agent Charlie McCusker said there had been no further offending involving his client since last May.
Mr McCusker explained that Mr Stewart had tragically passed away last August and she had returned to live with her parents in an attempt to distance herself from her troubled past.
He said: “Her alcohol consumption has reduced significantly and she has a good relationship with her parents.
“Clearly, she recognises she was in the wrong and wants to offer an apology for her behaviour.
“She also recognises that alcohol was an issue for her.”
He urged the court to spare Goodwin, now living at Pemberton Valley, Ayr, custody so she could continue to rebuild her life.
Sheriff Tom McCartney told her the court was prepared to mark the offence by imposing a fine of £580.
