Boots have confirmed the closure of one of their branches in Leeds, with the store to close in just two months time.
The pharmacy branch, which is based on Town Street, Armley, will be closing at the end of August - leaving local customers with a five-mile round trip to their next nearest store in Bramley.
A spokesperson for Boots has confirmed that members of staff employed at the Armley branch have been informed of the closure. They will all be offered jobs at other stores in the region.
A spokesperson for Boots UK said: "At Boots UK, we continually review our store locations to make sure they are where our customers need us most.
"It is never a decision we take lightly when looking to close a store. With this in mind, we can confirm that we are closing the Armley Town Street branch in Leeds towards the end of August however our other store in the Bramley Centre will remain open and is around an 8-minute drive away.
"All of our affected colleagues have been informed and will be offered jobs within Boots stores."
There are currently 30 Boots stores across Leeds.
