The "quick actions" of staff at a Bridgend branch of Boots led to South Wales Police officers arresting a male for shoplifting.
PC Chris Thomas, aided by PCSO Galtry, were on hand to apprehend the offender after eagle-eyed scrutiny of CCTV at the store.
The equipment guided the officers to the shoplifter and the stolen items were recovered.
According to its website, South Wales Police's stated priority is to "reduce and prevent crime and anti-social behaviour, to keep people safe and confident in their homes and communities".
It adds: "We will be tough on crime and the causes of crime, tackling root causes through early intervention and prompt partnership and evaluation of what works."
