Boots Soltan for kids launch new product which tells you when you need to reapply sun cream

It's a well known fact when the sun is out and the kids are enjoying themselves the majority of parents struggle to get their little darlings to stand still even for a minute to reapply sun cream.

They're in and out of paddling pools, running around the beach and meanwhile you're panicking that the sun cream might have worn off and trying to remember when you last reapplied.

But fear not parents, Boots have just launched a brand new product that will give parents an indication of the precise time you'll need to get the kids rounded up to reapply their factor.

The UV Detection stickers which you apply to your child's skin after applying their sun cream will change colour as their sun cream wears off and one sticker lasts a whole day.

Now I know what you're thinking, surely the sticker would just come off in water but no, they're also water and sweat resistant...genius!

The stickers utilise innovative dermatrueTM “skin mimicking technology” which has been scientifically developed to mimic the skins pore size, so it can accurately copy how your skin interacts with SPF protection. The signal to reapply is triggered by an underlying UV detection layer, which measures the UVA & UVB exposure using photosensitive dyes.

“After discovering that 39% of parents find it hard to estimate the right time to reapply sun protection on their children2, the Soltan Learn to Reapply UV Detection Stickers will reassure you that enough sunscreen has been applied for optimum protection, turning from purple to clear to let you know when your child is fully protected.

"The sticker will remain clear when skin is protected and fade back to purple as the sunscreen becomes less effective - particularly handy if you’ve forgotten to reapply after swimming and towelling dry.” Clare O’Connor, Soltan Suncare Specialist says.

Dermatologist and paediatrician approved, the patches are waterproof, sweat resistant, hypoallergenic and adhere like a second skin to ensure they last for a full day of outdoor play.

Soltan Kids Learn to Reapply UV Detection Stickers are priced at £5, and are available exclusively on Boots.com and in selected Boots stores.
