High street chain Boots has slashed the price of face masks this weekend as new rules are introduced across the UK.
From today (24 July), Brits are required to wear masks in shops, takeaway chains and banks as part of new government guidelines.
Boots shoppers will be able to save 25% off disposable mask bundles in stores and online at Boots.com.
The deal means shoppers can currently pick up 50 pack of masks priced at £26.25 instead of £35.
The chain also sells packs of 100, 200 and 300 disposable face masks as well as a wide range of reusable masks.
The chain is now also selling handy personal protection kits that include everything you need to stay safe when out and about in public spaces.
There are two kits - an individual kit that costs £6.99 and a larger family pack that costs £14.99.
Both packs include face masks, anti-bacterial hand sanitiser, gloves and anti-bacterial wipes.
Speaking about the latest launch, Boots Head of Healthcare, Joe Mitchell says “As lockdown measures are easing and we find ourselves making plans for the rest of the summer, it’s important to take vital steps to protect yourself and others. Remember to wear a face covering when travelling on any public transport, regularly wash or sanitise your hands, and even if you are wearing gloves try to avoid touching your face. The new Boots Protection Kits include everything you and your family need to travel safely this summer.”
Under the new rules now introduced anyone caught without a mask can be fined up to £100 by the police.
Shops also have the right to refuse entry to anyone who isn't willing to follow the new rule, however many major brands have said they will not challenge customers who do not follow guidelines.
Scientific advice states that when used correctly, face coverings can help reduce the spread of coronavirus droplets, and can protect others from catching the virus.
