Boots shoppers ‘in love’ with ‘amazing’ £12 mascara that rivals Benefit and Mac

Beauty buffs could save more than £50 a year on their mascara after a new Boots-own-brand tube has been likened to expensive brands like Benefit and Mac. Mascaras typically have a shelf life of three-months before they need to be replaced, so buying brands with price tags upwards of £20 can soon get expensive.

However, No7 have launched a new 4D Lift & Curl Mascara that comes in under £15. Usually £14.95, the budget-friendly beauty buy has been reduced to £11.95 so that shoppers can trial it at a lower cost.

The four-in-one mascara is said to lift, curl, lengthen and volumise, offering a natural ‘wide awake look’.

Suitable for sensitive eyes, the secret to the lush-lash product lies in the easy to use domed-tip brush, which helps to grip, elongate and curl every lash. The formula can be built up to create a desired finish, with shoppers saying it separates lashes without leaving clumps - hoorah!

Leaving a review on the Boots website, Alijj18 commented: “Love the brush - it applies smoothly and allows multiple coats of the mascara which really makes my lashes long without clumping.”

Meanwhile, LynH said: “Loved this mascara. Applying three coats really emphasised my eyes. No clumping and lasted all evening. Kind to surrounding eye area.”

Others compared the mascara to Mac’s Mac Stack mascara, which retails at £26, so would cost over £100 a year, with others likening it to the £24 Benefit Rollerlash.

LWalk said: “Really liked, nice brush which separates lashes, similar effect to Benefit mascara but slightly more natural. Lasted well on me.”

Danirose01 added: “This mascara really caught my eye with its beautiful packaging and snazzy brush applicator. I like how you can get all the fine shorter lashes. I’d compare this very much to Benefit’s ‘roller lash‘ but substantially cheaper to buy.”

With LW09 writing: “Love this mascara it gives a nice defined look to the lashes with a nice curl. Also buildable so it doesn’t give a horrible spider leg look to the lashes! pair it with the No7 eyelash primer for more of a lift as well. Could well be a dupe for the new Mac mascara!”

Boots shared a before and after photo of one of their models who used the mascara, and the results were mindblowing, doubling her lashes in length. Boots added: “We only show authentic results on real people. Since 2011, we have been committed to our True Beauty Promise of using no lash inserts or retouching.”

Of 109 women who tested the mascara, 85 per cent of them said they would delay a salon-professional lash lift treatment thanks to the mascara, with nine out of 10 agreeing their lashes looked lifted.

What’s more is that shoppers can even get it for free when they buy two of their favourite No7 products, as they’re currently a three for two offer which will see the cheapest item free.

You can shop the new No7 4D Lift & Curl Mascara for £11.95 on the Boots website here.
