Christmas shoppers were left feeling disappointed after thinking Boots had scrapped their 3-for-2 gift offer this year.
But the store confirmed that the annual offer was still going to be in place alongside new sale offers after initially saying it was not running.
Throughout the years, customers have saved hundreds of pounds by using the offer, with gift sets from big brands such as Yankee Candle, Nando's and Harry Potter all included.
In an announcement on the website, Boots wrote: "Save 25% on 100s of Christmas gifts.
"We're not currently running our 3 for 2 promotion but you can shop the same range of gifts at 25% off."
Bitterly disappointed shoppers took to social media and were not happy about it.
Writing on Twitter , one disgruntled consumer wrote: "Anybody know why the Boots 3 for 2 has suddenly gone?"
"Went to start the dreaded xmas shopping but @BootsUK is currently doing 25% off instead of 3 for 2. So it can wait a bit longer," said another.
However when one customer challenged them, they responded by saying the offer would actually still be running.
One woman said: "Really disappointed you’ve stopped your 3 for 2."
The Boots Help Twitter account replied: "Expect to see either 3 for 2 or save 25% off and other discount offers go live on amazing giftsets and toys in the run up to Christmas, and don’t forget our unmissable Big Deals which are available until stocks last."
