Boots is urgently recalling two types of babies’ dummies after an inspection found they could be faulty.
The pharmacy chain said it issued the recall notice as a “precautionary measure” after a potential problem was identified in a routine quality control test.
One of own-brand products is a pack of two “airflow soothers” described as being for babies aged from newborn to six months old.
The second product is a two pack of dummies described as being for babies aged over six months.
The dummies have now been removed from their shelves and anyone who purchased either of the products is asked to return them to the store immediately for a full refund or replacement.
Boots offered an apology to customers on its Facebook page, reading: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and would like to offer our reassurances that as soon as a fault was identified as part of our quality control process we immediately removed these lines from sale." It added that “no other products are affected”.
