NHS workers can now be tested for coronavirus at new drive-through testing centres - one of which is located at Chessington World of Adventures.
The beauty and healthcare retailer has opened facilities at the theme park, as well as at its head office in Nottingham.
The move is in a bid to support the Government's bid to test doctors and nurses who have been self-isolating and are unsure whether they have the virus.
The pioneering method of testing has only been used in a few locations across the country.
Tests are currently being conducted by volunteers from Boots staff.
It will offer free testing for NHS workers who are isolating themselves, unsure if they have coronavirus or not. Those eligible for the tests will be invited by their employer who will inform them of the process.
It comes as more than 200 people have now tested positive for the virus in Nottinghamshire.
Cases in Surrey almost doubled overnight on Thursday, spiking up to 271.
By Friday, the figure had risen by another 129 people.
During a Government press conference on March 27, Michael Gove - who stood in for Boris Johnson after he tested positive for coronavirus - revealed increased testing capacity and said tests were being trialled immediately.
Seb James, managing director for Boots UK, said the company felt - as it has done for the past 171 years - it had a duty to "step forward and be part of the solution" to the ongoing crisis.
He said: "I am extremely proud that Boots is supporting COVID-19 testing for NHS workers.
"Boots has been at the heart of UK healthcare for 171 years and has always come forward to support the community in times of need.
"We will work with the NHS to recruit trained professionals – both Boots colleagues and from the wider community.
"I am sure there will be many trained healthcare clinicians and students, who will step forward to support our dedicated NHS colleagues.
"Locations are being defined but will be spread across the UK; they will not however be in Boots stores, allowing our colleagues to focus on supporting our customers and patients."
The Government has before been criticised for its lack of testing options, particularly for NHS workers who are vital in the efforts to support those who are vulnerable and in critical need of care.
Boots hopes the new facility will allow workers to get back on the front line as soon as possible.
Boots healthcare academy trainer and testing centre volunteer Joati Dhallu said: "I volunteered today to support our NHS at this crucial time so we call really help those that are at the forefront of the NHS to get back into work to care for those that really need it at this time."
The company has been carrying out tests at its new facility for the past week.
Richard Bradley, pharmacy director for Boots UK, added: "We are here today at the home of Boots in Beeston, Nottingham, to open a testing site for covid to be able to test NHS workers completely free of charge so that they can return to work to support their colleagues on the front line.
"In the first instance the tests are for the NHS workers who are isolating themselves, unsure if they have covid or not."
