Boots opening Covid-19 vaccine centre in Nottingham's Victoria Centre

Nottinghamshire's biggest company is opening one of its new Covid vaccine centres right in the heart of Nottingham - in the Victoria Centre.

The pharmacy, health and beauty retail giant will offer NHS Covid-19 vaccinations from its shopping centre store as well as in Beeston and Newark stores from Saturday March 27.

These three stores are the latest Boots pharmacies to offer the vaccinations, now available at 25 stores across England.

Boots pharmacists will administer the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine as the retailer continues its mission to support NHS England to vaccinate the nation.

Nick Sunderland, programme director for vaccines at Boots, said: “Our pharmacy teams in Nottinghamshire are hugely excited by the opportunity to help their local community by offering the Covid-19 vaccine instore.

"We are incredibly proud to be supporting the NHS to deliver Covid-19 vaccinations – our stores are conveniently located and accessible. We look forward to welcoming patients over the coming days and weeks.”

Boots opened its first vaccination site in Halifax in January and has helped more than 60,000 patients from the area receive their first vaccine at the store.

The company also has plans to expand further to more Boots stores in the coming weeks.

Patients will be invited directly by the NHS to book their COVID-19 vaccination appointment at the Boots Nottingham, Beeston and Newark pharmacies.
