Boots enjoys record-breaking Black Friday with three orders a second online

The cost of living crisis didn't stop shoppers snapping up a bargain at Boots online on Black Friday. Boots.com broke all records with its biggest ever day for orders placed.

Three orders were made a second as customers enjoyed discounts on more than 18,000 items including favourite brands such as MAC, Dyson, No7, Benefit and Fitbit. The busiest hour for ordering was during the England vs US World Cup match between 8pm and 9pm.

Boots.com warehouse dispatched more products than any other day this year, and sales were up 18 per cent online and up 17 per cent in shops. The most popular product with a saving of over £55 was the Benefit Star gift, down from £85 to £29.50.

The top-performing electrical beauty item was the Philips Lumea hair removal device with a saving of £180. On Black Friday, some 120,000 orders were dispatched from the Boots warehouse in Burton upon Trent, where 2,600 staff members, 220 collaborative robots and 240 mini-robots were working hard to get parcels out for shoppers.

The origins of Boots date back to 1849 when John Boot opened the first store in Nottingham.
