Bootleggers attack SEB CI, 2 constables in Kurnool district

Illicitly Distilled Liquor brewers attacked the Special Enforcement Bureau Circle Inspector Yerra Venkat and two other constables when they went on a routine check to Billekal village in Aspari mandal of the district on Saturday morning.

The Alur Law and Order Circle Inspector said that the SEB Inspector along with constables Chennaya and Vijay seized 20 litres of ID liquor in the village and were waiting for the panchanama to complete the procedure of confiscation when six persons attacked them with sticks.

The injured personnel were shifted to Adoni Hospital for first aid and then to Kurnool.

SEB Additional SP Tuhin Sinha was monitoring the situation.

The accused had taken away the mobile phones of the three along with the liquor they had seized. A case has been filed against six accused, including Peddanna, Nagaraju, and Eeranna. “We have formed teams and are searching for the accused,” said the Alur CI.
