Boost for St Mirren fans as tickets for St Johnstone clash go on general sale for first time in more than a year

It's been over a year since St Mirren supporters could buy a ticket for a home game on general sale.

Not since their crucial 1-0 win over Hearts back in March last year could they enter the stadium for a game without both a season ticket and lucking out in a ballot.

But now the Buddies are welcoming back fans to the SMiSA Stadium in more serious numbers for this weekend's clash with St Johnstone, with the ballot system for season ticket holders now appearing to be a thing of the past.

Only 500 lucky Saints supporters were able to attend the Paisley club's League Cup clash with Dunfermline, with that number rising to just over 1,000 for their meeting with Partick Thistle and their first Premiership home fixture against Hearts.

This Sunday every season ticket holder will be able to get through the turnstiles, as well as an as yet unspecified number of general sale ticket holders.

A St Mirren spokesperson said: "All season ticket holders will be able to attend Sunday’s match as St Mirren face St Johnstone in the cinch Premiership.

"New season ticket cards will not be ready on time for Sunday, so season ticket holders will have to use the barcode sent in their purchase confirmation email as an e-ticket.

"Anyone with any issues with their season ticket barcode should contact help@stmirren.com before Sunday’s match.

"The club hopes to have season ticket cards ready in time for the Dundee United match on September, 11.

"Tickets are also now on general sale - priced at £22 for adults and £12 for concessions.

"General sale tickets can be purchased at the St Mirren Ticket Office or online at stmirren.com/matchtickets.

"The match will also be shown live on PPV at a cost of £12.50. Please note that due to UEFA restrictions, the match is not available to buy in England."
