Boomtown festival 2019 fans fume as they say Lauryn Hill arrived on stage more than an hour late

Boomtown headliner Ms Lauryn Hill reportedly arrived on stage an hour and a half late and then played for only 15 minutes before running out of time.

The songstress, who is set to play at the Downs Festival in two weeks, angered festival-goers by her late arrival and short set.

Many took to social media to blast the rapper for keeping them waiting.

One reveller tweeted: "I reluctantly left prophets of rage who were amazing thinking I’d catch the last half hour of lauryn hill to find she wasn’t even on yet so I missed POR for no reason and when she did come on she said 'hello boomtown 2018'."

Another wrote: "Fact we’re an hour into Lauryn Hill’s closing set at boomtown and she’s not even turned up is f***ing atrocious mate."

Another disappointed fan wrote: "Cracking weekend at #boomtown but Lauryn Hill was shockingly bad, an hour late and left after 20 mins.. for those who are planning on seeing her I’d just save the money and spend it on something else.

However, some Boomtown goers still praised her gig despite her tardiness.

One woman tweeted: "Lauryn Hill was incredible last night at Boomtown, what a woman!"

And another reveller said: "Boomtown was an absolute joy - Lauryn Hill, Chronix, Lil Simz... thank you."
