Australia have punched their ticket to the 2023 FIBA World Cup in style with a dominant 97-50 win over Kazakhstan at the Republican Velodrome in Astana.
The Boomers entered Saturday's contest with an undefeated record in Group F with eight wins and zero losses and booked their ticket to next year's tournament with three games to spare in the Asian Qualifiers.
Led by FIBA Asia Cup gold medal-winning head coach Mike Kelly, Australia led from start to finish to reach their 13th FIBA World Cup, to be played in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines from August 25 to September 10 next year.
Australia raced to a 31-point quarter-time lead holding their hosts to just 15 per cent shooting from the field and eight points through 10 minutes.
The Boomers shared the load with not a single player hitting double figures as they put up 39 points in the opening term.
Kazakhstan rallied at quarter-time and enjoyed their highest scoring run of the game with eight consecutive points but the Boomers wrangled back momentum to boast a 33-point margin at the main break.
By the third quarter, every single member of Australia's roster had scored in the contest as their margin grew to 41 points.
Australia then put on a further 19 points to prevail by 47 with Sam Froling leading all scorers with an 18 point, 11 rebound double-double.
Dejan Vasiljevic hit three of his six attempts from behind the arc for 13 points and Angus Brandt had 10 points and six rebounds before fouling out in the third term.
Jack McVeigh added 10 while Centre of Excellence graduates Alex Toohey and Rory Hawke both played extended minutes and impressed with six and seven-point tallies respectively.
Eighteen-year-old Toohey, a top international prospect, committed to Gonzaga University this week following a senior debut for Australia earlier this year.
None of Kazakhstan's players reached double figures as the hosts shot 26 per cent from the field and made just four of their 25 attempts from three point range.
They will face Japan in their next group match on Tuesday.
The Boomers registered a 51 per cent field goal percentage, had 48 points in the paint and 42 points from their bench unit.
They had been set to play Iran on Monday for their next qualifier before Basketball Australia withdrew the team from the match, citing safety concerns.
