Boom! Ohio State lands three-start OT from Ohio for 2020 class

We are starting to see the Ohio high school pipeline get re-established under new head coach Ryan Day. Several kids from the Buckeye state have been a part of recent commitments lately, and now you can add one more.

On Monday, three-star offensive tackle Trey Leroux announced his verbal commitment to the Ohio State 2020 class on Twitter. Out of Norwalk, Ohio, the 6-8, 320 lb. Leroux is currently listed as the No. 38 recruit in Ohio, but a bit under the radar nationally.

He’s raw, but the coaching staff believes he has the size and ability to develop into a large piece of the puzzle on the offensive line down the road.

The state has had its fair share of four and five-star kids, but the program also has a history of developing kids with a deep love for Ohio State out of the Buckeye state that have developed into national award winners and NFL stars.

The Buckeyes now have seven total verbal commitments for a 2020 class that is rated No. 5 in the country so far according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The new coaching staff will never shy away from the biggest of names nationally, but there is a clear shift happening here with getting more Ohio kids to be a part of the program again.

We’ll see if that continues going forward.
