Boom! Ohio State lands coveted graduate OL transfer Jonah Jackson

After a long and competitive recruitment, Ohio State has won the graduate transfer sweepstakes of coveted Rutgers graduate transfer offensive lineman Jonah Jackson.

It’s no secret that Ohio State is thin on the interior of the offensive line after losing a ton of experience this past season, and it’s also no secret that it badly wanted Jackson to be a part of the solution in 2019.

At 6-4, 305 lbs., Jackson has the size and ability to compete for a starting spot right away. He was named an honorable mention All-Big Ten performer last year and alleviates some concerns the Buckeyes had there with relatively unproven options.

That’s not to say that Jackson will be handed one of the two starting guard spots without competition, but it would be a surprise if he didn’t get the first look there, and it’s likely his job to lose in what will be his last year of college ball.

Though the news is welcome, it comes as a bit of a surprise. Many experts had Jackson trending away from Ohio State and towards Oklahoma after recent reports. Texas was also hot on the heels of the Pennsylvania native.

Consider one more question mark at least partially answered for Ryan Day and the Buckeyes.
