Ohio State got another big-time commitment for the 2020 class today. Four-star defensive back Lathan Ransom took to Twitter Tuesday to announce his college choice between Ohio State, LSU, Notre Dame, Texas and Oklahoma.
In the end, the pull to play for the a Buckeye program that’s sent more DBs to the NFL than any other program since 2000 won out. At 6-0, 193 lbs., Ransom is rated as the No. 4 safety and 76th total recruit in the entire class according to 247Sports.
Out of Tuscon, Arizona, Ransom is high school teammates with fellow Buckeye target, 5-star running back Bijan Robinson. He is set to make his commitment on August 2. Yes, he too is trending heavily to the Buckeyes.
For Ohio State, it’s another top 100 recruit in the class — its ninth — and one that could make an immediate impact once on campus. With the commitment, the Buckeyes now move to the No. 2 ranked recruiting class overall according to 247Sports.
So much for the drop-off in recruiting that was supposedly descending upon the banks of the Olentangy with Urban Meyer riding off into the sunset.
